Application

Roleplay is about telling a story. Application characters allow restricted venues of play to be explored, and further stories both directly and indirectly. An application system ensures these special characters adhere to the game's theme, and create a cohesive world. Because of these points, your application should take the form of a narrative, and not a list. Remember, the more detailed and well thought out, the better.

Approval is based upon the current game demographics, the quality and thoroughness of the application, and your activity on the game. Approved characters are not granted additional XP to cover the required purchases. You are responsible for covering the experience on your own.

Applications may not be approved/denied immediately. If you have not received a response within three days, you may contact an Immortal. If the application is not accepted (but not denied), it may go to a pool to be drawn from later. If denied, you may experience a waiting period until further applications from you are considered. You will be notified of the outcome of your submission.

The following applications are not accepted: Immortals, Citizens, Nobility.

Applications should be submitted to applications@theinquisition.org, subject line: APP: <character name>

Note: Applications are only required for concepts otherwise not available in creation.

Your application should be detailed and cover the following topics:

  • The Sheet: This section may be a list. It should include your character name, age, race, class and account name. Also, what you are applying for.
  • Character: This section covers the various aspects of your character. It should convey a strong sense that the applicant has been thoroughly considered, both as a realistic and convincing character, and in adherence to the game's theme.
    • Profession: What does or will your character do in their life? Why is that their choice?
    • Personality: What is your character like? Are they cheerful and always smiling, or a lone wolf run with distrust? Do they indulge in their favorite things of life, neglecting all else, or are their personal desires put aside?
    • Life goals: What does your character hope to accomplish over the course of his or her life? What sort of aims and ambitions drive your character onward? This can be external goals, such as becoming rich and successful, and more personal, such as developing a quality spousal relationship.
    • Morals: This is simple. Where does your character draw the line? How does he or she define good and evil, right or wrong, or do they simply have a lack of morality altogether?
    • Unique/standout traits: Are there any particular habits or appearances that make your character stand out in a crowd or in someone's memory?
    • Perspectives: What perspective does your character have on each guild? This may be an included list, like HELP LITHMORRAN PERSPECTIVES. Include views on magic.
    • More?
  • Background:
    • History: Who are you, and where did you come from? What sort of life did you lead growing up, and how did it bring you about to where you are today?
    • Family: What was your family like? Did you get along, or did they drive you against your will for a specific profession in life?
    • Significant life event: What event(s) in your life had the greatest meaning to do? Why did it shape your personality or your outlook on life the way it did?
    • Deep secrets: Who doesn't have a dark, dirty secret they prefer kept quiet? For some people, it could be the one time you stole a loaf of bread to feed the family. For others, they could hope to keep quiet the time they murdered their foe in cold blood, just so they could take his shiny pendant.
    • More?
  • OOC: Other details. This section may also be a list.
    • What is your experience on TI?
    • How does this character create new roleplay venues?
